Debora Giliotti

“I believe that in everyone’s life there is an undeniable turning point, a series of circumstances that suddenly change everything .” Cit.

…you can live your life all the ways you believe, but what you loved and have loved all your life, even though you try to hide it, because it’s never the right moment, because life is made of commitments and responsibilities, sooner or later it comes back like a river in flood and life, even with its scars, won’t stop you.
I amDebora Gigliotti, I was born in Pontremoli ( MS) in 1979. I grew up in a small village up in the mountain and then moved first to Parma then near Reggio Emilia.
After graduation I found a job as a secretary then as a preschool teacher, continuing my passion for oil and watercolor painting as a self- taught. After the birth of my first son with a congenital heart disease and the arrival of two twins I decided to take a break and be a full time mother to then start again after ten years with a new tool: the pyrograph.
Being a luthier daughter I decided to use wood and in 2023 I bought my very first pyrograph.
I created the 2 winning works of the first Culinary prize of the Borgotaro Mushroom Fair and I participated in the OpenArt 2025 Prize in Rome.
Pyrography is an articstic technique that allows you to draw on wood by using incandescent tips that burn and engrave. Sometimes I like to experiment by finding myself using watercolors, acrylic pastels and wax.
